I’m all “heart eyes” for my Valentine’s Day Mantel full of soft hues of pink, blue, and white, heart-shaped balloons, striped candles, a googly-eyed letterboard, and DIY garlands!

Alright, I know that I’ve mentioned this in every Valentine’s Day post, but it’s just hard not to! My son’s birthday is on Valentine’s Day, and it’s so fun to amp up the Valentine’s Day decor for his special day. Maybe I’d do it anyway if he wasn’t born on February 14, but we will never know!
This year I decorated my mantel using some adorable large and small heart-shaped balloons, cut-out paper hearts, my letterboard, complete with some giant googly eyes, bright striped candles, and my DIY Valentine’s Day garlands! You can see how I created my Valentine’s Day Letterboard HERE! It was super easy and adds a bit of whimsy to my mantlescape.
The two Valentine’s Day garlands that you see on my mantle were a very easy DIY project! When I was at Joanns the other day, I saw the colored pom poms and pink letters. They were just asking to be used in a project, so I obliged. I thought they’d make adorable Valentine’s Day garlands! I decided to add them to some of the pink and white baker’s twine that I purchased on Amazon.
My mantel measures 80 inches wide, so I cut the baker’s twine around 86 inches so that it would drape slightly. I used a large sewing needle to string the pom poms and XOXO letters. I tied a loop on both ends of the garland so that I could hang it using the command hooks on my mantle. The garlands add the perfect punch of color, and are the foundation to my Valentine’s Day mantel!
If you don’t feel like DIY-ing these sweet little garlands, I have them for sale in my ETSY shop! So just follow the link and take a look!
Spoiler alert! I’m having a few girlfriends over for a “Galentine’s Day” brunch full of coffee and crafting! We are going to make the Pom Pom Garland and the XOXO Garland. I hope they are as excited as I am!
I can’t get enough of the striped candles from Ana Candles! I adore ALL of them and if I had more money, I’d buy every one of them! Anthropologie has some beautifully marbled ones as does ETSY.
I think my mantle turned out to be really sweet! I love the mixture of color variations in the pinks and blues! It’s a little unexpected. I was going for a little funky and a little cutesy. I think I got it! What do you think?

I’m not really a fan of red. It has it’s place, but I don’t use it very often. Would you use the colors I’ve used or do you need to have red to make it feel like it’s Valentine’s Day? If you like this post, you will probably like my “Valentine’s Day Mailboxes!”
