Easy Halloween Table Runner & Tablescape
This year Halloween kind of sneaked up on me! My son had been asking to decorate for Halloween since he saw the first orange pumpkin of the season! My son and daughter had off from school one day, so I decided to decorate on a whim. I let them have “some” control of the decor. I tried to guide them as to where to put things, so that not every Halloween decor item ended up in one corner of my house!
While they focused on the whole downstairs, I decided to get started on the easy Halloween table runner and tablescape. There is no need to overthink a Halloween table.

The first thing you need to do is to decide what theme you want to chose. Last year, I went with a similar look, but added a few more pieces. You can see it HERE! This year I wanted something simple, and a little spooky!
Next, chose the layers that you are going to include. I use the same table setting ideas no matter what season it is. You can check out the steps I use to create a layered tablescape in my post, “Table Setting Ideas for Everyday Summer Vibes!”

I have been using this gray striped tablecloth for every season! I love that it is neutral and serves as a great base to any seasonal tablescape. It was the perfect backdrop to my easy Halloween table runner! I found this black spooky cloth at the Dollar Tree and was planning to use it for decoration, but when I opened it, I realized that it was super long and in the shape of a rectangle.

It was the perfect size to become an easy Halloween table runner for my dining room table! I layered it across the tablecloth and put the rest of the tablescape on top of it.

I put the wooden chargers and plates on the table and then layered it with my usual gold plastic reuseable utensils, cloth napkins and wooden bead tassel napkin rings, and topped it all of with a ceramic gray pumpkin from the Target dollar spot.
Next, I added the gold candle holders and tapered candles to add some elegance to the table. I finished off the tablescape by adding a skull on top of a white cake plate and two skeleton birds on top of the Halloween table runner at both ends.

This was such an easy Halloween table runner to include in my tablescape! You can get these spooky cloths everywhere, and they come in different colors. I really liked the contrast between the black spooky cloth and gray tablecloth. The best part is that it cost $1.00!
