Yarn & Pom Pom Wreath for Valentine’s Day
We just had two gorgeous days in January and it’s only feeding my need for spring to arrive! This time of year I start to get a little impatient for spring. I know, it’s a long way to go, but I tend to add little pops of pink around my house and that helps to get me through!
Luckily Valentine’s Day is another excuse to work in some pink accents! I joined a lovely group of ladies to share some DIY Valentine’s Day wreaths with you all! There are so many different styles, but all adorable!
My yarn and pom pom wreath is subtle, with a bit of whimsy! I’m a neutral loving gal at heart, so I chose to use white loopy yarn and blush pink blanket yarn for my pom poms. I tried it with some colorful pom poms that I had left over from another project, but I liked the soft pink ones better. If you are looking for a Valentine’s Day garland, check out my Etsy shop! I have two different ones, and the one is almost sold out!

The yarn and pom pom wreath looked like it missing a little something, so I decide to add a bow made out of some pink striped ribbon that I already had! It was the perfect little touch.
I don’t decorate a lot for Valentine’s Day, one reason being is that it’s my son’s birthday! Talk about a Valentine’s Day present! It’s hard to surpass that year’s gift! I usually throw up some cute garlands, wooden letters, and pops of pink to give a nod to Valentine’s Day. Check out my post, “Simple Valentine’s Day Decorations” to see more!

Here are the details to DIY the Yarn & Pom Pom Wreath for Valentine’s Day:
Step 1:
First, start wrapping the wreath base with the loopy yarn. You do not need to secure the end to your wreath, because once you finish wrapping the wreath, you will tie the two ends together.
Step 2:
Second, begin making your pom poms. I made several different sizes and colors, but ended up only using the blush pink large pom poms. You can watch my video to see how I make the pom poms, since I don’t go into a full tutorial. I used two cardboard circles that I cut out, but you can use a pom pom maker and a pair of very sharp scissors like these!
Step 3:
Third, use a hot glue gun to glue the pom poms to the yarn wreath base.
Step 4:
Fourth, if you like, you can choose a bow to add to your wreath. I had this pink ribbon already, so I chose to add it to my yarn and pom pom wreath. I am thinking about buying some pink velvet ribbon like the ones below. It’s soft and classic and perfect for Valentine’s Day!
