Who doesn’t love cacti!!??
My family was into cacti before they were cool.
My mom is from the Southwest, and her family (well, my family also!) has a cabin in New Mexico, so she has always loved that style.
When I was little she would make cactus shaped sugar cookies, stencil coyotes on furniture, and cook Southwestern food like a BOSS! Tex-Mex food is still my favorite today!
I love that cacti are popular right now, because they remind me of my childhood, and they are just so darn adorable!
After a DIY project that I posted about a couple of weeks ago, I was inspired to create some cacti gift tags! I used different colored paint swatches to create gift tags in some DELIGHTFUL little shapes, including a flamingo, a unicorn, a cactus, an ice cream cone, a watermelon slice and more! If you are feeling creative or just want to take a look at my DIY paint swatch gift tags, you can check out that DIY post here!
I highly recommend printing these cacti tags on heavy cardstock.
Here is the cardstock I use.
It works great for gift tag printing and fits nicely into my printer without causing any jams! (Check your printer manual first to see which cardstock you can use in your printer! I’ve definitely learned the hard way that a cardstock is too thick! Ugh!)
To make the holes in my gift tags, I use the Crop-A-Dile Eyelet and Snap Punch and grommets. This little thing is so helpful! You can use a single hole puncher, but this snap punch prevents some disappointing mishaps! It prevents the paper from ripping when tying the twine to the tags, and makes them look a little more finished.
And what’s even cooler is that you can use the snap punch to poke holes through metal, plastic, thin wood, and more! Imagine the gift tags you could make and the money you could save on buying them!

Side Note: I recently purchased an “All in One Megapack” by Nicky Laatz from Creative Market. If you are not familiar with Creative Market, they are an online marketplace for all things design! They offer graphics, WordPress themes, stock photography and other digital items. And if you sign up for their emails, you can receive a variety of FREE design items every week!
This “Megapack” included watercolor styles, fonts, illustrations, textures, logos, patterns, foils, and more! It was quite the deal. But the ideas are endless with this bundle!
I created these tags using the “Megapack” and Photoshop through my Adobe Creative Cloud subscription. I am thrilled to share them with you all, but please do not claim them as your own or sell them. Thank you!
