One of the greatest ways to get a work space in a small room is to use a wall desk! These desks save you space and several of them provide storage as well! Whether you buy one or DIY one, they are a fantastic small space solution!

I’ve been working on some minor updates in my son’s room for awhile! You can see more about his room in the post, “Stuck Between a Nursery and a Big Kid Room!” My son will be five in about a month and very into legos, as four-year-old boys often are! We have a small table in his room at the moment, but I’m planning to move it to make room for a bookshelf and some storage bins. With that gone, he won’t have a flat place to work on. I mean, he happily works on the floor, but I think he’d love having a space to “work!” I’m also thinking forward a few years for when he needs to have a space to do homework. Who knows if we will be in this house in a few years, so I want to get hime something that is not expensive!
This is where I’m planning to put some shelving and a wall desk. My plan is to put up some book ledges so that my son can display some treasures and legos that he has created! Then below the shelves, is where I will attached his desk to the wall. It can’t be very deep, but we have a few inches to work with. There will need to be a little rearranging, but I’m sure it will all fit!
The layout in his room is a bit complicated. I could remove some furniture to make place for a desk, but he would either lose his dresser or bookshelf! Clearly that’s not an option. The way that the room is set up only allows for a folding wall desk. So I’ve been looking for some options, and here was what I found! All of the folding wall desks will fit, but I’ll need to do some measuring for the stationary wall desks.

To be honest, a wall desk seems like an easy project to DIY. I have wanted to work on my DIY skills, so I might even take that route! I have found these three folding wall desk options to DIY. They are all different looks, but would work in his space.
