Valentine’s Day Mailboxes
Valentine’s Day holds a special place in my heart! Pun intended. Everyone likes to feel special on February 14 even if it is a made-up holiday to get money from us suckers.
My husband is not known for his romantic gestures. I mean he proposed on the carpeted kitchen floor (yes, the kitchen had carpet) of his apartment where I refused to go barefoot…ever. Sure he’s had his moments, and he does regularly bring me flowers, which is very sweet. However, on February 14, 2014 he gave me a gift that he will most likely never top. My son! Yep, my son was born on a snowy Valentine’s Day four years ago!
I think it’s adorable that he was born on Valentine’s Day, but I’ve thought about the future and how he will celebrate his birthday! Will he take someone out on a date? Will he expect to be taken out on a date!? These are all questions that will just have to be answered as time goes by! Luckily we have some time before he starts dating. If you know a guy born on Valentine’s Day, tell me, how did he celebrate his birthday!?
On a recent trip to Target, I found these cute little tin mailboxes and foam candy heart stickers at the Dollar Spot. I couldn’t resist them, and I figured that I could use them somehow! You can see why I have a hoarding problem. Well, with some alphabet stickers and some goodies to put inside, I have a sweet little Valentine’s Day treat for my two little loves! These Valentine’s Day Mailboxes were so easy and inexpensive!

Tutorial: Details to DIY the Valentine’s Day Mailboxes
Step 1:
Peel off the letter stickers and place them in the desired spot on the tin mailboxes. I chose to put the stickers on the side without the flag. The flag moves up and down and would cover the letters, so it was an obvious choice to place the letter stickers on the opposite side. I eyeballed the middle of the mailbox and tried to center my letter stickers horizontally and vertically.
Step 2:
Place the heart stickers where you would like them. I wanted to keep it simple, so I only used one sticker above the name.
Step 3:
Fill your Valentine’s Day mailboxes with crinkle paper.
Step 4:
Stuff your mailboxes with goodies! I have some candy and little knick knacks, like stickers and stamps. If you don’t want to use candy, you can put anything else that fits in here!
