Table Setting Ideas for Everyday Summer Vibes
If you are coming over from Cherry Street Blossoms, welcome! I hope you enjoyed perusing her beautiful home all decorated for summer!
This summer I am all about simplicity! I have said this before, but this summer I feel the need to really focus on making things less complicated. I have been a bit anxious lately and unfortunately that anxiety can sometimes turn into panic attacks. NO ONE wants a panic attack! I’m trying my best to make things easier on myself. This means I’m trying to get rid of stuff around my house and not add anything that I don’t really love! The less stuff you have cluttering your home, the more room you have in your mind!
That’s why I used things from around my house in my table setting ideas for everyday summer vibes! I didn’t spend a dime on my summer tablescape. Right now, that feels great to me! That feels simple! More people need to feel comfortable doing this, and more people need to share that they’ve done it!
I always follow easy steps when it comes to setting a table. You can see how I created my “Spring Tablescape” and the 6 easy steps I used in THIS post! I follow the same simple steps for every tablescape, including my table setting ideas for everyday summer vibes!
How to: Table setting ideas for everyday summer vibes
- Pick a theme
- Choose a neutral base
- Add chargers or placemats
- Place your dinnerware on top of chargers or placemats
- Combine your flatware, napkins, and glasses
- Create a centerpiece
Theme:
First, come up with a theme to set your table. My summer tablescape them is all about natural materials and stripes! Think coastal vibes!
Neutral base:
Next, I used the gray and white striped tablecloth that I found at Home Goods as a base. See some similar ones below.
Need some inspiration:
Chargers or Placemats:
On top of the tablecloth, I placed seagrass chargers. They work really well on top of the tablecloth because they are a good contrast in texture and color. Seagrass just screams summer! A solid placemat or textured placemat would also work.
Need some inspiration:
Dinnerware:
After that, you can add the dinnerware on top of your chargers or placemats. If you know me, you know that I love using white plates and bowls to create a tablescape, so of course I used my white dished for my table setting ideas for everyday summer vibes!
Need some inspiration:
Flatware, napkins, & glasses:
Adding the faux gold flatware is my favorite! The gold utensils are plastic, but look fantastic juxtaposed to the natural elements seen on the table. I feel like the gold silverware dresses up any table, while still keeping it classic. In this step, the napkins and glasses are also added to the table. The napkins and napkins rings give a table a unique flare. This is where you can add some personality and they easily go with white dishes! I found the gray and white stripe napkins at Home Goods as well. The wooden bead and tassel napkin rings are one of my favorite DIY projects. In fact, I taught a workshop at the Philly Home Show this past January with a fellow blogger, where we taught people how to make the napkin rings and take them home! You need to make these napkin rings for your next gathering! They are super easy and so cute! Find out how to make them in my post, “Wooden Bead and Tassel Napkin Rings!”

Centerpiece:
Finally, just like accessorizing an outfit, a centerpiece is the must-have to a finished table! Whether it’s simple or complex, you NEED a centerpiece. As you can guess, I kept mine simple and used to large wood and glass candle holders, as well as, a piece of driftwood with a faux air plant tucked into one side! I was so excited when I remembered that I had the air plant. It is the perfect size for the little hole in the driftwood and the green really compliments the other natural elements on the table.

Table Setting Ideas for Everyday Summer Vibes
I adore the colors you see in summer, as well as, all of the natural materials. This summer table setting is a great representation of my style. It’s somewhat coastal and relaxed, yet classic. Setting a tablescape is one of my favorite things to do! Sharing my table setting ideas for everyday summer vibes is definitely a second favorite! I hope you feel inspired to create a simple summer tablescape using things you have from around your house! I sprinkled a few other summer touches around the house, but just a few to keep me sane!

Beautiful! Just curious as to why the spoon is placed on inside of the knife?
Thank you so much! The spoon is on the inside of the knife, because I wasn’t paying attention and obviously placed it in the wrong spot! Luckily we aren’t too formal around here!
