Dr. Seuss’ children’s books evoke such fun and whimsical feelings! They are the perfect inspiration for a child’s birthday party. Check out this theme from Oh, The Places You’ll Go!

One of my favorite Dr. Seuss books is Oh, The Places You’ll Go! The story, the colors, the illustrations, all make me happy. Because of this, I chose this book for the theme of my son’s first birthday party! (All of these party items can be used for any type of birthday party!)
I CANNOT believe that my daughter will be one year in less than four months! My precious baby! Most likely she is my last child, so this is so bittersweet. I won’t deny that I look forward to more sleep and more independence from my daughter, but it’s SO hard to not be needed as a mother, who basically has been her life source for a year!
Ok-life source might be a bit much, but you get my point.
After a quick ugly cry, I’ll try to focus on the adorable things that I found for my son’s first birthday party and look for some inspiration for my daughter’s upcoming big event!!!
Like I’ve mentioned before, I didn’t have the blog when my son was a baby, so I never had the chance to post about certain things. One of those things was his first birthday! I chose the theme based off of Dr. Seuss’ book, Oh, The Places You’ll Go!
Although it’s meant for a child, it is so inspiring even as an adult! I love thinking about my son when reading the book and all the adventures on which his life will take him. It can be a little emotional, if you let yourself go there! Or maybe that’s just me and my hormones! It’s also the last book that Dr. Seuss wrote.
OK! Enough tears! Let’s look at some of the cute-as-heck stuff that I found for this party!

(Please forgive the less than stellar photographs…unfocused…harsh lighting! Although I’m still learning how to use my DSLR, I’ve come a long way since here…or so I’d like to think.)
I hope you are inspired by Dr. Seuss and choose a party theme based on one of his books! If you do, I’d love to hear which book you chose!
I certainly have some ideas for my daughter’s first birthday bash after writing this post! Happy Party Planning!
