Mother’s Day Gift Guide for the Home
I put together some of my favorite items in my house that I absolutely love right now! Some are newer than others, but all of them still make me smile! Everyone has a preference on what they like to spend their fun money. I’d much prefer to buy some home decor items over clothes or jewelry. That’s why I don’t have a fashion blog! Considering I basically wear exercise clothes everyday, you all are all better off.
We all know that Mother’s Day has nothing to do with things or getting presents. Being a mom is not an easy job and not everyone understands that. We are all just doing the best we can. If you do anything for yourself this Mother’s Day, promise to give yourself some slack this year! That’s a gift in itself!
I’m loving all the bright colors and textures that are coming out right now! Most of the things that I want to share are colorful or full of texture! It’s nice to add a little something to different spaces in your home to give them a little refresh and update every so often. These don’t cost a lot of money and can actually make a big impact! What’s even better is when these pretty little things serve a purpose other than just being there for decoration! I hope these things bring a smile to your day as well! You can always send this link to your significant other for a little (big) hint! Or just treat yourself!

How about these colors! Last summer I bought some plates from Anthropologie that were very similar to the ones seen above. They don’t have the exact same plates this year, but THESE are almost identical!
The Opal House line by Target is INSANE! I’m loving the beautiful rich colors. This round velvet aqua pillow is an adorable new addition to our playroom! I may have added this to our playroom, but it make this mama happy! It was the perfect touch to update the space, and make it a tad more of a “big kid” space! Since four and one and a half is basically like being in high school and college.
We were in major need of some new drinking glasses. The ones we had were given to us at my bridal shower ten years ago, and we only had three left! We had broken all of the others! I decided to look at some plastic tumblers, because there are so many cute options out there, and they’re not breakable! I found THESE at Target and LOVE them! They’re the perfect sizes, they don’t break, they’re BPA free, and dishwasher safe! It doesn’t get any better than that!
What mom doesn’t yearn for a more organized home!? I have little kids, but I know plenty of mom’s with older children who still need more storage! I bought these pill top hooks in gold just for this reason. We have a command center in our kitchen that was getting out of control. I decided to put some hooks on the back of the basement door for more storage. Now we can keep backpacks, lunch boxes, and more on the door!
Rattan and other natural materials are so popular right now! They’re so beautiful and fresh looking. I found a large rattan tray at Home Goods for my living room. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find the original source, but this Opal House tray is so similar and actually less expensive!
If you haven’t heard of Mrs. Meyers cleaning products, they are all natural products that smell amazing and come in adorably wrapped bottles! I just bought several through Target on sale. I’ve also gotten them through Grove Collaborative. They offer discounted prices for a monthly subscription that you can put on hold at anytime. That means you just fill out what you want to come every month with NO extra fee. You don’t even have to leave your house! What’s even better is that you get a few FREE items with your first purchase! I’m not getting any money for this…I just think they’re mission and products are fantastic!
This refrigerator sliding drawer comes in some really cute colors and serves as more storage space in your fridge! If you are working on organizing your refrigerator, check out my post “Organizing Your Refrigerator with the Dollar Store” for some inspiration!
The last two items are pillows! My husband and I have a running joke. “You can never have too many pillows!” When we first bought our house, he totally did not understand why we needed so many pillows, but I think he’s coming around! He always seems to snuggle-up with them when he is on the couch! These pillows have amazing texture to them! The natural and white fringe one is in my family room against our dark brown sofa. The Project 62 color block one is going to go in our living room after a little refresh.
Keep up the good work mamas! Be proud of who you are and what you have accomplished! If you’re not a mom, then go thank a mom for all of their hard work!
Here’s the Opal House round velvet pillow in our playroom. It gives the perfect pop of color!
I’ve gathered quite a collection of Mrs. Meyer’s products recently. I even have a coral colored cleaning bin that I made with a caddy from the Target Dollar Spot!
I love the gold hooks on our basement door. I’m going to get one more to put three on the bottom. Does it bother me that the door knob is silver and the hooks are gold? Yes and no. I haven’t decided what I’m going to do.
