Full of pinks, aquas, and off-white, here is a little sneak peek at my daughter’s nursery!

When I found out that I was having a girl, I cried. Of course they were tears of JOY!
For some reason I thought I was going to be a boy mom. What my son had shown me over the past two years had blown me away and was pure fun! (most of the time…wink)
I didn’t expect to cry when I found out, and it was then that I realized how excited I was for a little girl! And…that’s when the color PINK came rushing into my head!
I never pictured having pink walls in a baby girl’s nursery. I wanted something a little different. However, the pinks, the purples, the aquas, and all the frilliness kept filling my mind for my nursery inspiration!
As most of us do, I spent countless hours scouring Pinterest. I just couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for, so I did what we had to do before we were blessed (and cursed) with Pinterest…look on the internet for my nursery inspiration! Haha!
After looking online and viewing more than a few fabric samples from my seamstress, I almost gave up. That’s when I finally came across two fabrics that I fell in LOVE with!
The first one is called Emperor’s Garden Blossom by Braemore.
This fabric is BOLD.

I knew it had to be for the drapes! It is filled with different shades of pink, aqua, purple, chartreuse, and green. It sounds like it has a lot going on, but it really flows together!
I found it at onlinefabricstore.com.
They have an amazing selection and very reasonable prices for designer fabrics. I’ve purchased many different fabrics from here over the years, whether it’s been for my house or a client’s.
I decided that I wanted to pull out the pinks and aqua from the Emperor’s Garden fabric for my nursery inspiration. That’s what led me to my second fabric, which is called Secret Gate Blossom by Braemore.
I found this one at tonicliving.com. This is another fabulous website and it has SO MANY amazing pillows that are already made for you! Also, they often have special discounts available to email subscribers!
I love how the large pattern and bold floral graphic in the Emperor’s Garden fabric mixes with the geometric hard lines seen in the Secret Gate fabric.
When I design a room, I find it easiest to choose the fabrics first. That way I can pick the paint colors and other items in the room based on the colors in the fabrics. And…because it’s the most FUN!
While collecting ideas for Liev’s room I put together a little montage of fabrics, paint colors, trim samples, etc. This was the START to my vision!
Sneak Peek at Liev’s Nursery
Yes, my daughter is seven months old already and her room still isn’t complete! Ahh! For a while her room looked like squatters were living in it, so I’m making progress! So second child…
As promised from last week’s post, here is the handmade pendant light that I chose from Stray Dog Designs! It is the Uncle Walter Drum Pendant, and it’s the perfect pop of aqua! How about that little paper mache bird on the perch!?
If you haven’t heard of Stray Dog Designs, you should take a look. They are full of brightly colored handmade furniture, lighting, accessories, and jewelry. Their vibe is totally fun and funky!
Check out a post from last week where I created a Knock Off DIY Cactus Set inspired by one that I saw at Stray Dog Designs. The cactus set is the perfect accessory for a summer tabletop! Theirs was $335, and I made mine for $22!
Keep checking back for sneak peeks of Liev’s nursery and the final reveal! And yes, the ceiling is pink!
