How to Display Christmas Cards Like Ornaments
Every year I get more and more holiday and Christmas cards. I’m certainly not complaining about it! It’s so much fun to see how everyone’s kids have grown and what creative ways people have had their pictures taken.
I have come up with different ways to display Christmas cards over the years, but one of my favorites is to display them like ornaments! It’s super easy to do and allows them to be part of your Christmas decorations!

It all started with a small faux tree that we have. We bought it when I was pregnant with my son as an alternative to getting a real tree. At the time I thought it would be hard to get a real tree because I was due about a month later. Meanwhile my daughter came on December 2, and I was like, “WE ARE GETTING A REAL TREE!” Sometimes I don’t know what I am thinking!
One year I decided to display Christmas cards like ornaments on the small tree and loved it! Since then, I have changed things slightly by hanging the Christmas card ornaments on my garlands around the house. It’s a nice little personal touch to my holiday decor!

How to Display Christmas Cards Like Ornaments:
Materials Needed:
- Christmas cards
- Hole punch
- Baker’s twine or other string
- Garland or tree
- Ribbon (optional)
- Lights (optional)
Step 1:
Punch a hole in the top center of the Christmas cards. I use this hole punch. It can also set small grommets so that the paper doesn’t rip!
Step 2:
Loop your twine through the hole and tie it off. You should have a loop to hang on a garland or a tree.
Step 3:
Hang your cards! This year I hung them on my staircase banister. I have a very short banister, but there’s still room to put a garland, lights, and Christmas cards! I’ll put the rest on other garland that I have around my house!
