We are down to the wire for Christmas gift wrapping, and if you are anything like me, I’m looking for EASY and INEXPENSIVE ways to add a little character to my gifts, beyond any awesome wrapping paper! I do love wrapping presents, but I usually wait to the last minute and that takes away a little of the joy…ok most of the joy. So while I’m staying up to midnight on Christmas Eve, I want something that is going to be simple.
When I was at Joann Fabrics on Black Friday I picked up this candy cane stripped wrapping paper, as well as the “No Peeking” paper. If you know me, I am so NOT into the color red, but I’ve been embracing it a little more these days. I don’t know if it is because of my kids or what, but I’m liking it! Unfortunately they no longer have the wrapping paper in the store, but HERE is a similar candy cane stripe paper and HERE is another “No Peeking” paper. Both are from Amazon.
I also found these cute light blue pom poms and blanket yarn. I knew that they would make the perfect gift toppers! The pom poms already had some adhesive on them, so all I had to do was stick them on the packages. However, I didn’t want to spend a million dollars on pre-made pom pom toppers, so I did the next best thing and got some regular pom poms! I picked up a couple packages with different colors, so whatever mood I was in that day, I would have a multitude of colors to choose from! I got sparkly pom poms, fuzzy pom poms, and regular pom poms to cover all of my bases. 😉
The best part is that they were cheap and came with so many pom poms in the pack! HERE are some Christmas colored pom poms. HERE are some colorful pom poms. HERE are some sparkly pom poms.
For the pom poms from the packages, all I did was attach about three of THESE glue dots to the bottom of the pom pom, and then put it right on the gift. It doesn’t get much easier than that!
I took the yarn, which I had originally gotten for my “DIY Cloud Garland” and my “Yarn Cone Trees,” and just wrapped it around the package a couple of times. I also tied the yarn in a cross around the package as well.
These are very simple ideas to make your gift wrapping that much easier and enjoyable!
