There’s no denying that there’s something magical about the holidays. I think it comes from adding that little something extra to your home. I can’t be the only person who is sad to put away the Christmas decorations! It makes the house feel cozier, less stressful, and full of more joy than usual…even though our house is always full of joy…at EVERY. SINGLE. MOMENT. Isn’t yours? 😉
I am all about decorating for the holidays, but creating a festive holiday vibe in your home isn’t just about adding greenery to your banister, hanging stockings on your mantle, and putting lights on your front porch. Families are such an important part of the holiday spirit and many people’s families travel far to visit them. Having actual conversations in person or better yet laughing up a storm, is what the holidays are all about! My extended family includes a wide variety of ages, but I love that these activities can bring everyone together. They definitely bridge the age gap!

Fun Finds for the Christmas Kids Table

These red and burlap mason glasses are so festive and can be added to the table for a fun way to drink up the non-alcoholic eggnog! You could totally DIY some mason jar glasses for the big day…if you are an overachiever. 😉
Umm…Christmas themed toothpicks!!?? Yes, please! No need to describe how fun these are, and I’m sure they could be made into some sort of craft later on in the evening!
Now these aren’t your run-of-the-mill iced cookies! Look at those scarves and Rudolph’s nose! The time and effort put into these cookies does not go unnoticed. Sugarcraft is a baking studio based in Los Angeles, CA, but they are not your average baking studio. Sure you can get adorable cookies, cupcakes, and cakes there, but they also offer cookie decorating kits and cookie and cake decorating parties! How many kids (ahem…and adults) would LOVE to do that at their party!? If you live in the LA area you should totally hit them up!

For Fun:
Building anything Lego is a BIG deal in our house! If I showed up with this Lego Santa on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, I’d definitely earn myself the title “my favorite parent”…at least until my husband offered lollipops.
I can never get enough of photo props. They are fun at every age! My nieces and nephews are always staging photo shoots. For some reason they never ask me to be in them. These Christmas photo props come with about a million different options! Maybe they’ll let me in this year.
How creative are these playdough kits from Homegrown Studio CT on Etsy!? I bought the Vanilla Peppermint Snowman Kit a couple of weeks ago, and we already have had so much fun creating all different types of snowpeople and snow scenes! It smells so delicious, that I’m tempted to take a little nibble…and my one-year old daughter already has. There are several adorable themed playdough kits for sale, so go take a look!
You don’t know what Christmas crackers are?? They are little paper rolls filled with small toys, candy, trinkets, etc. The Meri Meri Santa and reindeer crackers have a gold foil hat, a cracker snap, a toy, and a joke! That’s a lot of bang for your buck! Meri Meri on Amazon also offers snowmen crackers and elf crackers!
Think of these as giant coloring books on a roll. Does it get much better than that!? Mudpuppy offers these in a ton of different themes. The roll above is Christmas themed and is the mini version.
As if our family gatherings aren’t silly enough, adding in Mad Libs is a must! The old and young can get involved and it really brings everyone together!
