Five Easy Ways to Make a Balloon Garland
I’m not sure if everyone gets as excited about balloons as I do, but I’m pretty pumped to try out my first balloon garland! I am decorating for a first communion party this weekend. All the decor has been ordered and arrived! We are going for a serene color palette, but with a modern twist. The little girl who will be receiving her first communion, requested a pink, white, and gold first communion party. You can see more from the party vision board HERE!
I’ve already started to put together the decor and complete a few small DIY projects associated with the event. I’m loving the simple DIY First Communion Party Sign that I put together using a customizable alphabet banner and flowers from the Dollar Store!
The balloon garlands will be the most time consuming pieces of decor that I’ll need to make ahead of time. I’m planning to use pink, white, and gold balloons to create the large garland in the entry foyer and the small one above the dessert table.
While preparing for the balloon garland making, I’ve done plenty of research and come up with a plan that works best for me. I scoured Pinterest for some easy ways to make a balloon garland. That means without chicken wire and WITH an automatic air pump!
I’m going to use fishing line and command hooks to hang my balloon garland. We are using three different sizes (12 inch, 9 inch, and 5 inch) and colors of balloons (pink, white, and gold). Glue gun or glue dots?? Not sure what I’ll use yet to adhere the smaller balloons to the garland. The final and most important question is, should I try to add some flowers to the balloon garland!? I think they are so pretty, but they’ll increase the cost! We shall see!

Whether you are planning to use fishing line, beading wire, or floral wire, these tutorials will give you the steps to DIY a balloon garland with ease!

This is the first balloon garland that caught my eye! I mean look at the serene white backdrop with the tiny pops of pink! I’m going for a similar color palette for the first communion.

The pops of color have me smiling from ear to ear! I like that they used the balloon garland as a backdrop for the drinks and desserts at their “Ready to Pop” baby shower!

How about them tassels!? What a sweet little surprise added to an already adorable balloon garland!

These girls love their pink! If you are looking for an easy way to pack a lot of color into a balloon garland without making it “too much,” use different shades of one color just like you see in this picture!

Once again, this calm and pretty backdrop is such a beautiful image for any party! Combine that with the ease of this balloon garland and you have the ideal party decor!
Wish me luck as I use these tutorials to get me from start to finish! I’ll be posting the finished pictures as soon as I can, so make sure you come back to take a look!
